client Testimonial

"With our recent move from Minnesota to Tennessee, we once again called on Laurie and her expertise to bring color and nature into our new home. Instead of starting over with a new interior designer in Tennessee, I trusted Laurie and was confident that she would be able to not only envision a beautiful design for our home, but to implement it within our desired (and short!) timeframe. After an initial call with Laurie, we quickly realized that we needed new furniture for our great room. Our Minnesota furniture simply was not going to work in our new home due to the larger scale of the room as well as the new style and layout we desired. Although Laurie was never in our home during the planning and designing phase, distance was not an issue due to her talent and experience. Laurie not only listened and proposed several design choices that allowed us to see the potential for the space, she simplified a project that once felt overwhelming. After the planning phase was finalized, Laurie traveled to Tennessee to complete the project and see it through to the end. Her organizational skills, attention to detail, and talent were all evident as she brought her design to life in a matter of days with the accessories, furniture, and art work she had carefully selected. While in our home, Laurie paid careful attention to the overall flow of the great room as well as the adjoining kitchen and outdoor porch while not taking away our view of nature outdoors. We were so pleased that Laurie’s design incorporated all of the natural light and beautiful wood beams in our home as well as the overall style that we desired for our new Tennessee home. It was truly a pleasure to work with Laurie again and we are grateful for her design that will allow us to enjoy our beautiful great room for years to come. Thank you, Laurie!"

This new construction home in College Grove, Tennessee is a perfect example of how Laurie Mattson Interiors transforms blank slates into soulful, statement-making spaces—virtually and in person.

Designed remotely from Minnesota, I handled every detail—from space planning to sourcing furniture, lighting, and decor. The client had several existing pieces with sentimental value, so I strategically blended those into the design for a look that felt both elevated and personal.

After overseeing deliveries from a distance, I flew in for a multi-day install, layering in additional accessories, shopping locally, and styling each space to feel intentional and move-in ready.

Project Highlights:

  • Virtually designed from Minnesota
  • Full furniture & decor procurement
  • Custom integration of existing client furnishings
  • On-site styling & final layer sourcing
  • Warm modern aesthetic with natural textures and high-contrast accents
  • This project reflects the power of strategic design—where remote collaboration meets magazine-worthy results
